someone from south carolina actually puts out a good record

i bought this after hearing "one step away" and the fact that they are from about an hour and a half away from where i live.this is an outstanding modern rock album.the singer has a great voice, the riffs are incredible, and the drum work is great.most of the hooks come at the end of the songs, which make this cd worth listening to beginning to end.great beginning for a band that should have good success.

ECHO 7 - ONE STEP AWAY

Echo 7 is a very impressive new band. Similar to the likes of Die Trying, Smile Empty Soul, Three Days Grace, Fuel, Finger Eleven, etc, their debut album One Step Away has it all. Heavy songs, slow songs, songs that start heavy and turn slow, and vice versa. One of my favorite things about this band is their lead singer. It's like he can't decide who he wants to sound like. For example, in "Masquerade" he sounds a lot like the lead singer of Fuel. Then, on the next song "The After", he sound exactly like the guy from Finger Eleven, and I mean EXACTLY. From there, he tries out Aaron Lewis of Staind on the track "Beneath the Surface". Still not sure, he goes on to sound like Wes from Puddle of Mudd on "Uninvited". It shouldn't bother anybody though, because all those guys have awesome voices, and so does this new guy from Echo 7. The only flaw to this album is that in my opinion, the first few tracks just don't live up to the last 8 or 9 tracks. This would be one of the best albums ever if they could've done something different with those first few. Either way, I would recommend this album to any fan of alternative rock. My favorite songs include: Uninvited, Reason Why, Standing In Betweem, Beneath the Surface, and Left Alone.

ONE STEP AWAY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the better albums in the past couple of years. Had the pleasure of seeing them live when they opened for Queesnryche and was hooked. BOught the album and still listen to it to this day. It is hard enough for rock fans, the ballads are amazing and, well, it just plain rocks. I recomend it to everyone and look forward to their next release.
