HTDAAB is da bomb |
| Ok...This is an awesome album. If you don't like it then you must be deaf and or stupid. |
Not a disappointment at all! |
| I know a lot of U2 fans out there seem to be disappointed with their latest album, HTDAAB, but I'm not. I think it's almost a throw back to their 80s albums, which is a good thing. City Of Blinding Lights, in particular, has the classic U2 sound which really takes me back to the good old 80s. Vertigo is a rocker, with catchy, clever lyrics. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own is a nice sentimental sort of song, which I believe Bono wrote about his dad, who passed away in 2001. Love And Peace Or Else is a great song about something which any rational person hopes for in our crazy world .. "Lay down your guns/All you daughters of Zion/All you Abraham's sons". The album closes out with Yahweh, which is a song which is really a prayer to God. All in all, a great effort by what is still a great band! |
I love this CD |
| OK, I'm over 40 and I've been around and know what I like in music and I remember U-2 when they were brand new. This is U-2's best album to date. It's mature, thoughtful, romantic and a great CD, every song's a winner. Does it sound like the angry rockin' U-2 from the early days? No. They've grown up now. My favorite's are "Sometimes You Can't Make it On Your Own", "Vertigo," "Yahweh" and "A Man and A Woman." Anyone who says they don't like this CD is probably too young to appreciate it or is still hanging on to the old U-2 from the '80's and doesn't want to let go. Take my advice, if you haven't already bought this, buy it now and do yourself a favor. |
